I bought this dress in January to mostly wear as a tunic. I knew it would be a little small around my hips – that’s the way Free People and I usually roll. That’s the way a lot of stores like free people and I roll. I hoped it might fit as a mini dress. I could rock it when I felt extra confident. Mostly I’d put some short shorts on underneath it to keep from worrying about it riding it up.

Well, I found out I was pregnant 1 week after the dress arrived. So it officially became the free people maternity tunic! I love the cascade and the silky fabric of the dress. It’s not going to fit for that much longer with this baby bump so I’m honestly waiting anxiously until I can wear this while not pregnant. I love the cascade and the silky fabric of the dress. Free people as usual knocks it out of the park.

Now that you know about the dress, let’s talk about the weather because that’s how friends always start a good chat over coffee, right?! It’s super hot and very bright here in Florida – notice the shadows in all. of. the. pictures. Yup. I’ve got 3 more months of this pregnancy and summer’s only gonna get hotter and brighter. holy cow.

come on over to twitter or Instagram and let’s continue our little coffee chat ya’ll.

I am a sucker for a floral on a black background! This tunic is no exception. I absolutely love it. And it is adorable as a maternity tunic! And will be super comfortable post-partum as well. Good luck braving the summer heat while growing a human being! But you got it. Because we women are fabulous and that’s what we do!

I do hope you can join my new On the Edge of the Week Link Up this Friday and share your gorgeous maternity style!
