shorts . tank . Nike Women’s Dual Fusion
. watch
. bag
A few weeks ago, I posted about what I wore to Harry Potter World so this may be a bit of a repeat for a regular reader. It was exactly what I wore, and exactly what happened, and if you like dry humor and sarcasm or just want to see what it would be like to be my friend . . . then go read it and take notes. But let’s be honest, that post was a big joke. I definitely would not recommend wearing that to an amusement park, and I never will again.
Well, I have been back twice since that post, and I think I’ve finally nailed down the perfect outfit to wear to an amusement park on the hot, hot summer days of Florida. The key is ankle support, storage (go with me here), and breathable fabrics.
So let’s start from the bottom and work our way up. These shoes are Nike’s dual fusion, and they are pretty amazing for walking and running in my wide feet. I’ve had my purple pair for almost a month, and love them so much. 15,000 steps, 14 stories, and completely covered in water and the bottoms of my feet hurt a little.
Breathable shorts are key . . . jean shorts will work, but if you’re going to go on the water rides it might be a bad decision. Talking from experience here. My favorite shorts to wear have been featured on the bliggity blog a couple times, and every time I wear them they get better. They’re breathable and don’t show butt sweat. holla!
An easy, breezy tank top that won’t leave you with lots of tan lines is exactly what’s needed . . . just be sure it’s not white 🙂 again with the water rides. If you go to universal you’re going to get soaked, I’ve learned from experience.
The only accessories you’re gonna need are some cute sunglasses, a watch (not necessary, but I like it so i don’t have to pull my phone out to see the time), and some storage i.e. a purse. You don’t need much when going to an amusement park – I take my wallet, phone, keys, lip balm, tylenol, and sunscreen (and possible a magic wand or two). A small cross-body holds all of that, stays out of the way, and gives me extra space for my sunglasses, watch, and maybe even a water bottle.
What do you wear to your favorite amusement parks?
