Hey, there! I’m Nina and I blog over at Flowers in my Hair. You’ll find me writing about everyday adventures and the truth about them, DIY , beauty (more on that to come), travel, writing (because I call myself a writer), photography, recipes (typically recipes from my Italian family), health, books (they are kind of a vice but I show remarkable restraint by posting 1-2 times a month about them), short essays about serious stuff or things I am learning (on Thursdays), organization (by blogging about it, I have to try and organize my chaos), a bit on blogging itself, and probably a lot of other things. I also love elephants.

You may or not know that Bex and I real life friends (we started as blogging buds but transitioned, ya feel me?). One of the things I admire about Bex is her confidence. When I visited her, I was able to take photographs of her and there was one shoot where she was just…You could just tell how beautiful she felt (maybe she will tell you the story).

I, on the other hand, am not as confident. So you don’t see my mug on the blog as much. But Bex inspires me and so I thought I would share some things that make me feel pretty–not just on the outside but on the inside as well.

1. Elephants

I love them. They make me so happy.

2. Polka Dots.

Love them. They used to be my signature but I think they have been replaced by elephants.

3. Most anything, leopard.

4. Anything Nautical.

A friend teases me about this.

5. Flowers in my Hair

They make me feel beautiful inside and outside–like anything could happen. I recently did a tutorial on how I made this one here.

6. The Beautiful Women in my Family.

Example one: Nonna. Need I say more?

7. Dancing.

It’s not because I am skilled (far from it).

8. Friends.

Please excuse the sweat that is destroying my make up. That’s not the point is it? (Let’s not start on my hair).

9. Snail Mail.

It makes me feel so loved!

10. Laughing.

Is there anything better?

I could go on and on. As much as I love make up (and I sure do) and fashion, I know there are a lot of things and people that go into Bex taking such banging photographs with such confidence. So these are some of mine.
