the one about food on a stick

When you are eating healthy I find that if you make it fun you’re more likely to actually follow through. Or is that just me wanting to eat fun things? My sister would tell you that it is just me wanting to eat fun things and my paper straw obsession is proof.

My mother in law; however, once told me that Popsicles are a cure all. I was sick so she and my husband went out to get me some meds. They came back with tea, flowers, Nyquil so I could sleep, and Popsicles.  I got better the next day.

So really what I’m saying is that to be healthy you need to eat food on a stick. So here’s some of my favorite ways to eat food on a stick this summer. . .


1. Cantaloupe Mozzarella Prosciutto Skewers – cantaloupe is one of my favorite summer fruits. I might like it more than watermelon. True statement.

2. Pesto Grilled Shrimp – Kabobs on the grill are my husbands jam like straws are mine. So these bad boys are on steady rotation.


3. Sour worm Popsicle – Popsicles are cure alls you guys. That’s all you need to know.

    Those prosciutto melon skewers look amazing! I’m always looking for caprese salad substitutes since it’s my favourite salad but tomatoes are out! And your mother in law is so right – popsicles do fix everything 🙂
