the one with painted feathers

I’ve been really into adding feathers in my designs lately. I think it’s one of the things I focus on in this life redesign is being free. And feathers are so free, aren’t they?

They’re also beautiful, and a little rustic. My favorite words. So I decided to try my hand at painted feathers.

What you need: fake feathers, paint (I used regular ol’ craft acrylic paint), paint brushes

I love to paint, but I never get to do it much. I usually get about halfway through then realize i want it to look different. And then I’m just disappointed. This time I decided to keep things simple and go for a tribal type design in one color.

But you can get as colorful, and creative as you want.

I simply framed mine to add some whimsy to a gallery wall (more to come on that next week), but there are several ways I’d love to use these.

1. Stick it in a fedora
2.add some twine and twist it around a handbag (like you would a scarf)
3.I’m even thinking of finding mini feathers and trying to make earrings!

What crafts have you been up to lately?
