versatility is a noun that means having a wide variety of skills.
versatility describes having many different skills or qualities.
Versatility allows you to adapt to many different situations.
I love versatility. I especially love versatile clothing. When I go shopping if I can’t think of at least 3 different ways to wear with what’s already in my closet while browsing – then I don’t buy it (except for special occasions). 3 might sound like a lot, but it’s actually pretty easy. What will it look like by itself? Do I have a completer piece that matches it? Shoes that match? Can I dress it up and down? These are all quick questions to ask that will find you 3 different ways to wear it. It also cuts down on having unnecessary clothing filling my closet or clothes I rarely wear. I’m harsh at the store, but I’ve never been a girl to donate clothes with the tags still on.
This ‘dress’ I have on . . . it’s a skirt. Talk about versatility. I was a little worried that because of my shape I might just look like a sack of potatoes, which is why I added that belt. No potatoes in Florida.
Do you look for versatility when it comes to clothing?
I always get so many comments on my green floral dress from my winter capsule. It’s a gorgeous dress, and I love it so. It has a print similar to a rifle paper co print so I see why people love it. But. unfortunately, it’s over a year old and no longer available.
Funny story . . . It is actually featured in my favorite episode of ‘The Walking Dead’. It’s on a zombie in the episode ‘Still’ from Season 4. Every time I watch that episode (which is weekly – no shame in my daryl game) I see my dress and I think ‘Damn zombie girl, you got good taste’.
I watch a Leonardo DiCaprio movie once a week also. It’s called loyalty.
Back to the dress . . . since it’s no longer available for purchase I scoured the internets and found 3 more green floral dresses that are somewhat similar for you to choose from. And I thought I’d show you how I would wear these gorgeous dresses.
This gorgeous dress is from Target. Seeing that I’m a little on the curvy side. I need something that will define my waist so I don’t look like a pillow case. So I’d belt this bad boy. To keep things casual I’d pair some nice gladiator sandals with it. I also would wear this to a wedding with a simple nude, heeled sandal and a gold belt.

This one is the most similar to my dress in shape and form. So here’s how I like to keep it simple. Just a fun necklace and simple shoes.

And, finally, this is how I’d wear a green floral dress to work. I’m a firm believer that leopard is a print that can be mixed with any other print. And that is all I have to say about that.

How would you wear a green floral dress? I’d love to hear!
Monday I shared what I wore for Easter Sunday. A fun, bright, easy, pastel poplin dress. What I love about a poplin dress is how versatile it is. Almost as much as a fit & flare. But a poplin keeps it versatile when it comes to the fabric – it can be dressed up or dressed down, dressed for a movie or dressed for a wedding. So today I wanted to share 3 more ways I dress my poplin dress.

Monday I shared a classier way to wear it so let’s start with yet another. On Monday’s look I wanted to be a little more covered up for church or even work, but this one would be good when you can show a little shoulder. I think I’m going to wear something just like this to a wedding we have in August. I love that the statement necklace brings in a little darker color to contrast all the bright, and it welcomes in warm blues so the mint in the purse makes perfect sense.

For days when you want to look nice but still be comfortable a dress is always a good option. I love adding jean jackets to those quick and easy choices in the spring. The denim, of course, keeps the look casual, but warm in the mornings and the evenings when the sun isn’t all the way up. That even happens in Florida believe it or not. Backpack/drawstring type bags like this are popular right now, and I can’t decide if I’m ok with it or not. But this one makes me think I’m ok with it.

Sometimes you just want to be really casual, but still look put together. With a poplin dress, I’d throw on a comfy graphic tee. I might even knot it at the bottom, but that might make me look pregnant. It still might be worth it though so I’ll be trying it soon. Another warm blue purse to add some contrast and keep things colorful, and some super cute, super comfy flippy floppies bring this look together.
What’s a way you’d rock a poplin dress this spring?
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend 🙂 Welcome to the new week! Yesterday was our first Holiday here in Florida without our family. No worries, this isn’t going to be a sappy post about how I miss them. On the contrary, it’s going to be how awesome the day was. So let’s start with the most important part, what I wore . . .
This coral dress from Old Navy is a poplin dress – which surprise, surprise is a very versatile fabric. So Wednesday I’ll have a few other ways to rock it this Spring. Easter reminds me of (other than our Savior’s Resurrection) pastels, pickled eggs, and a big family dinner. So after, Iron Man and I went to worship in our . . . ok, only my . . . pastel colors, I made a big dinner for the two of us to eat on for days! Oddly enough the entire chocolate pie is gone already though. The last time I had ham every day for a week my feet were very swollen during a work conference. I couldn’t even put my black heels on. I pushed through though so I’m not worried about what my feet will look like at the end of this week.
After dinner, we had a Google hangout with some of the fam bam, and relaxed with some TV. How was your Easter?
