Yesterday we talked about this year’s color of the year – well one of the two –  rose quartz. So it’s only fitting that today I’m finaly wearing the color out and about in real life. This shirt looks like just your usual tee, but it’s the softest material . . . seriously it’s the best shirt ever. I slept init  a couple nights, which might have ruined it’s wearability. But it was worth it because it is the softest material ever. Target just nails it every time, guys. #targetdoesitagain By the way they now have a crab pillow which we all need to match our lobster pillows.

Anyways, this scarf I’m a little disappointed in. I love it, and when the few days pass in Florida where we can wear scarves it is pulled out. But it’s marketed as a blanket scarf, and it needs about 5 more inches to be a blanket scarf. So I’m a little disappointed. Old navy made it up to me with these shoes, though. They were on my Christmas list, and my mama pulled through and got ’em for me. Mama’s are the best. Mine shares a favorite color with me, purple, so she bought me the purplish color instead of the black. It’s actually more of a dark rose quartz color. Perfect for 2016

Have you worn this years color of the year yet?

When it’s cold enough in Florida to wear a blanket scarf . . . that means it’s raining. It’s weird that I’m slowly learning to love the rain. But we all know that’s only because I’ve been looking for reasons to wear scarves. So bring on the rain for a few more weeks, and bring on all the scarves. As soon as scarf season is over, I’ll hate the rain yet again.

Another thing I’m learning to love is maxi skirts with shoes and boots. It was always a bit awkward for me to pull off maxi skirts without sandals, but I’ve started embracing it. This maxi skirt from old navy is the perfect maxi skirt, and I don’t feel awkward wearing it with all my different shoes. It’s a light weight, breezy material with a comfortable waist and the perfect flare around the hips. And the neon color just makes it perfect. I was worried it would be hard to style such a bold color, but it’s actually quite easy when the skirt is this perfect. The most perfect thing about it? It actually hits the floor . . . even lays there a bit. Maxi skirts and dresses are supposed to hit the floor, but they rarely do. So when you find one that does you buy it in every color before it sales out – like this one has done.

Last month when I was home in Indiana for my best friends wedding I was actually really dreading the weather situation. See I had told everybody that I vowed not to become one of those people who came home when it was 40 degrees and had on a parka and gloves. When you grow up in a place where 40 is the norm – even warm for winter time – then 40 degrees barely is good enough to break out a coat. But here I was living in Florida where it’s still in the 70’s and even 80’s regularly. I was real worried, and had the come back of ” shut up, at least I live in Florida” all ready for the several people I knew would let me have it. And then while I was packing I remembered something that comes with cold weather that would make it all better . . . a blanket. specifically blanket scarves. There really is nothing like curling up with a cuppa and a warm blanket.

There are so may new cute blanket scarves out there right now, and I can’t justify buying any of them so here I am rocking the old stand by. It’s lucky it’s so dang awesome. Which new ones have you picked up this season? let me live vicariously through you
