the one with a beauty wishlist

My skin has always been very dry, except my forehead. It was this way for as long as I can remember. But when we moved to Florida it all changed! And so my skin care had to change as well. At the time, my skin had started to breakout a lot so I needed a change anyway. But as fall (and winter) back in Indiana are right around the corner. So I can’t help but think it’s time to make some changes again. That dry skin is most likely on it’s way back to my face. Skincare isn’t always fun though, so thinking about that always makes me think about beauty products in general. Spending a bunch of money on lotions for my face just sounds better when I get a fun lipstick to go with it. So here’s some things that are my beauty wishlist currently .  .  .

the one with my daily uniform

This Summer it’s all about the 5 pieces 1 outfit in real life. 5 pieces 1 outfit is the first series here on the blog every other Friday. It stemmed from my love of classic yet modern, easy to wear, chic and simple fashion. This Summer will be one of the busiest ever for me, and I live in Florida so it’s gonna be hot. I don’t want to have a lot on, and getting ready can’t take a lot of time. It’s the perfect time to do a ton of 5 pieces 1 outfit real life posts! I have a formula when I do these in real life – top, bottom, shoes, earrings, finisher. My finisher depends on what I’m doing and it also means I might actually photograph 6 or more piece. But I’ll explain each outfit so you’ll understand why.

This outfit is my daily uniform. I’m always in shorts or my white jeans with a simple tee, sandals, these two special necklaces, and a pair of earrings. This way I feel put together, but comfortable no matter what we do or where we go! I grab my go to sunnies and the diaper bag and we can rush out the door! or sit at home!

5 pieces 1 outfit: white dress

Hey friends! 5 pieces 1 outfit is a twice monthly series where we feature 5 pieces that bring together 1 perfect outfit. It doesn’t take a lot of time, money, and or pieces to create a fashionable look that anyone can create. 5 pieces is all you need to make another outfit killer. First, I find it’s best to have a theme so you have a place to build from. That can be a color combo or maybe even an event. But most of all you just need a good base piece. This week’s theme is this white dress I’ve been craving for many many months. Yup, it’s maternity, and no I’m not pregnant. I just really love this dress, of course.

This week we’re talking about black in summer.

Florida is officially hot, hot, hot. It has been for several weeks to be honest. We skip right past spring and straight into summer around April. So I wasn’t sure this outfit was going to work. Of course, black in summer isn’t always the best idea. But this top is the perfect lightweight material so it works. Plus it’s super cute and flattering.

I have on 6 pieces, but I think we’ve all learned that sunglasses rarely count. They are a staple, and as basic as underwear to me.

Soak slides are an innovative sandal that are comfortable and offer great arch support! They designers made them specifically for our everyday needs from the city, seaside, or the country. They’re also vegan and made in the USA! I love my pair! My favorite way to wear them is just like this. They’re easy to slide on for errands and walks, and if I am out longer than I expect they’re super comfortable! Use code NICHE15 for your own pair!

This is my favorite skirt! I wear it all the time, yet somehow it’s never been on the blog. Of course, that’s because you never picture yourself on normal days for the blog. It’s chiffon so it’s light and breezy and lays perfectly. There’s not much to explain for this outfit as a whole. It’s only 5 pieces except for my sunglasses! Those are on so my eyes aren’t squinty.

This week is all about vintage earrings that are perfect for the 4th of July! It’s obviously hot, hot, hot here in Florida, and I’ve got a 9 month old to take care during the fireworks. So this outfit is super simple and casual. Perfect for my favorite kinda holiday. The stretchy material of the romper even makes it good for nursing. Also . . . I found this romper at WALMART! and it’s perfect! It of course is not on their website, but I linked some similar ones.

You would think going the beach it would be a struggle to get 5 pieces. Not for me. Especially now that I’m a mom, I’m on the beach more than in the water. So I want to look cute. This tassel cover up is giving me the life to do so this year. I’ve already worn it about a 100 times. I’m only kidding because it hasn’t been summer for 100 days yet. Paired with sunnies and a hat to keep the sun out of my face, my swim suit, and some flip flops I’m already at 5 pieces!
