For the past 2 months, I’ve had a monthly series of outfits that all focus on one thing. The first was nursing outfits and the second was easy, classics. I’ve decided to keep up with it. First and foremost, you all seemed to enjoy it. But it also backs up one of the things I try to hold true to here on the blog and in my closet. That being buying things you can re-wear often. That’s real life, and I want my blog to show my real life. I love the idea of a capsule wardrobe, but it’s not quite realistic for me right now. 6 months ago my body went through a very drastic event (childbirth) and it’s still changing. Plus, I’m still getting used to those changes. So my wardrobe will be changing for a few more months as I figure out what works and what doesn’t.
Until then I’ll be wearing lots of the things that I already know do work. One of those things are these shorts from old navy. So April’s series will be ‘how to wear shorts’. When I was younger, I thought you could only wear shorts for casual events or active events. Even now I see myself and my friends struggling to figure out how to dress them up a little. After 2 years in Florida, I have a pretty good idea considering I’m lucky enough to wear them year round. Since summer is right around the corner, it’s the perfect time to share a few easy outfits to dress up your shorts!
The first is my favorite white peasant top that I’ve had for years. I got it at Charlotte Russe years and years ago. This is my favorite way to wear it – sweet and simple. This outfit is perfect for date night, dinner with friends, brunch with the girls – anything where you need to be a little nicer than casual but not business.
