Beauty, style

the one with hair accessories

It’s october . . . the beginning of my very favorite time of year – the holiday’s! I. can. not. wait for halloween to get here . . . and then thanksgiving . . . and then christmas . . . and then  new years! I will be going bananas decorating this evening . . . ok, with the 2 or 3 decorations that aren’t out already . . .my hubs is super not excited. In the meantime let’s talk about hair . . .

I talked here about my routine with my hair. It’s simply wash, blowdry, wear down and beautiful for day 1 – day 2 is no wash and half up or pony – day 3 is I begin again but if I’m running late I can use up some dry shampoo and a top knot.

today I have a confession, and I know some of you might think it’s gross . . . but I promise I’m not gross . . .

in the dryer temps come fall I always stretch it out to 3 days before I wash. I’m not positive it’ll work this year because I haven’t bangs in awhile, but my hair is thick, fine, and dry so it actually gets too dry and frizzy if I wash it too much. it needs it’s regular oils to help keep it healthy.

But that means I use lots more hair accessories in the fall to keep it out of my way, in my place, and stylish on days I don’t blow dry. Here’s some of my favorites for this season . . .

graphic bobby pins . hair ties . flower headbands . leaf clips

I only wash my hair once a week! It’s so thick that I have to do it that way or it gets really unhealthy, but I’m lucky because my hair doesn’t get very greasy.

you’re lucky on the no grease! my hair would go crazy with grease if I went more than 2 or 3 days.

Oh girl, I feel ya! My hair is long and thick-if I wash/dry it daily it would be out of control. I have started a new regimen of only conditioning maybe 2x/week. It’s interesting that I’ve come to love the feel of my hair without conditioner in. It’s not as heavy and I love it!

I want to decorate but my apartment is so tiny and I have SO much stuff…it’s cray-cray! lol. I love hair accessorizes but I can’t use very many because my hair is so thin. 🙁

Nope! You’re not the only one 🙂 & my favorite hair accessories are the decorative bobby pins. I need some more of those in my life, to be honest! 🙂

oh, girl. You are NOT the only one who goes days! I typically wash mine every 3rd day, but sometimes I wait until the 4th day (shhh). Dry shampoo is amazing stuff, and I do feel like I’m able to get away with waiting to actually wash longer in the fall/winter months!

haha! I’m so glad I’m not the only one that waits longer than 3 days.

I usually go three days in between washings. Dry shampoo is my best friend–I make my own though. It works better for me, it’s cheaper, and it doesn’t have any scary chemicals. 🙂
