In the fall and again in the spring I try to change up my daily makeup routine – of course there are fun things like a cranberry lip or hot pink blush that are not daily and I change up with the seasons, but I think we all have that daily routine that we do most days which is quick, easy, and brings out our best features.
My spring/summer daily look is super easy – bb cream, eyeliner, mascara, brow gel, concealer, highlighter and blush – and I’m done after 2 minutes! In the fall/winter I like to make the look a bit more substantial and have a fuller coverage foundation . . .
Step 1: prep
Loreal Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream – I’ve tried a few BB creams and this one is the only one that doesn’t leave me with an oily face. In the drier temps I do get a little dry around my nose, but that’s it. so I can’t see myself changing this, and I haven’t yet.
Step 2: the eyes
Mary Kay creme eye color in pale blush or bleach blonde – I’ve said it a thousand times. I love this stuff and it works so well as a primer. in the spring/summer it’s not daily since i like to be more natural. In the fall/winter most days I’ll add some tans/greys from the elf baked eyeshadow palette on top of the crème eye color and finish it off with some eyeliner and mascara. my current favorites of those are Almay intense color liquid eyeliner in black pearl and tarte lights, camera, lashes mascara.
Step 3: the brows
Brows are so important to take good care of. Mine are thick so I add a little anastasia brow gel so they stay in place.
Step 4: conceal
elf under eye concealer and highlighter this is my favorite one it just works so well and it’s $3! you can’t beat it . . . I put some in between my eyes, under my eyes, and around my nose.
Step 5: foundation
since my skin has become so oily I try to stay away from liquid foundations. I know they make good ones for oily skin, but on a daily basis I just prefer a little powder. Foundation to me is the most important step of your make up and it’s really more of a skin care product. That’s why I go a little heavier in the fall when that air is a bitter harsher here in Indiana. I just picked up
tarte amazonian foundation and I’m in love. I can’t believe I waited so long to get it.
Step 6: highlight and brighten.
I use the other end of my concealer stick from step 4 in my t zone and on the very top of my cheekbone then I use
mary kay sparkling cider as a bronzer right under my cheekbone and on my jawline. I do have a post about what I do one more special occasions or when I’m not in a rush, but on the daily these are the spots I don’t miss. I also include blush in this step because it’s just natural for me and go right to it after bronzer. It also just highlights your whole face a little pink blush can go a long way. This is and will most likely always be my favorite color for myself –mary kay shy blush.
Step 7: lips
I can’t name a favorite lip product . . . I can’t do it. don’t make me.

I was using Tarte for foundation (a different one) and then switched. Even though I loved it. I switched for summer. When I run out of what I have, I am trying the clay!

September 3, 2014 at 9:54 amI have never been a fan of putting my eye makeup on first, but I have heard of so many people recently doing that. I will have to try again! 🙂 You are using great products! I will have to try some of them for sure.
